1 of 2 animation projects commissioned by Truebill based in San Francisco. Truebill tasked us to communicate the dramatic difference between using the Truebill app to manage your finances versus the traditional ways. The concept we honed in on was using Shakespeare as the character that dramatized the painful experience in managing finances the old school way in comparison to the easy, picnic-in-the-park, Truebill approach.
We we landed on using a mixture of photography + 2d illustrations. With the tight turnaround time – I brought in a talented friend, Khang Nguyen, to help produce the cel animations. Mixing frame x frame with tween animations, exploring textures, and countless shuffling through sound effects gave us a unique light hearted finish to this animation. Props to the awesome team over at Truebill for giving us creative flexibility throughout the process.
